A marketing representative working for UberEnd, the company who is creating Monday Night Combat, has spotted a Valve employee at a local game developer event wearing a T-shirt bearing the possible logo for Half-Life 3.

His Twitter message says: “All I'm saying is I saw this at a local game developer event worn by a Valve employee. http://twitpic.com/7mxh6r #HalfLife3 #ValveTrolling”

As a company, Valve has a long history of engaging with its fan base and suggesting that they are developing games that they are not actually working on, which makes the ValveTrolling tag very appropriate.

Valve has confirmed that Half-Life: Episode 3 will be the next installment in the series but the project is perilously close to vaporware status at the moment and no new information about it has been released in some time.

Some have speculated that Portal might give a way for Valve to approach the Half-Life mythology from a new angle.
