Valve, the developer behind Team Fortress 2, has announced that it is awaiting fan-made items for Team Fortress 2, its free-to-play multiplayer shooter, that embody the spirit of Halloween.

The announcement on the official Team Fortress 2 blog states: “It's a well-established fact that every Halloween, all the ghosts, goblins, Draculas, bigfoots, Frankensteins and Area 51 aliens leave their house at the cemetery to scare humans. But what would happen if you snuck down to the cemetery before Halloween? You would die. Of scaredness? No! Of boredom.”

All submissions should be made via the Steam Workshop and all players can take a look at what the item creators are making and vote on the best-looking ones.

Team Fortress 2 has always been a testing ground for Valve and the success of the various items introduced by fans might point the way to a future where the crowd creates content for all titles from the developer.
