In a surprising move, Valve has just announced Dota 2 Reborn beta, a new dashboard that will feature a new engine, new interface, and Custom Games.

According to developers, Dota 2's new dashboard has been completely redesigned using a new UI framework, while the engine that powers the game itself has been fully replaced.

The first details on the new interface have already been unveiled by Valve. Early next week, developers promise to share more info on Custom Games, while later on, we will get to learn more about the new engine.

The open beta will be launched late next week as well, but an exact date hasn't been revealed yet. It will probably be unleashed over the weekend.

“We have rebuilt the entire dashboard from scratch to make it more intuitive and easier to use. We're using a new UI framework which enables us to make the game more lightweight while also building a stronger foundation for new features here and in future updates,” says Valve.

There are quite a lot of new features included in the new interface, but we'll highlight the most important ones.

For example, you will be able to set your own miniprofile with your favorite hero's stats, most treasured items, or trophies. The profile will also include Badges, which sum up experiences and accomplishments into a single icon.

You will be able to see other players' miniprofiles by simply hovering the mouse cursor over a player's avatar in the new interface.

Party Chat, new and improved DotaTV experience

The Activity Feed allows you to see and comment on your friends' accomplishments at a glance. But that's not all.

The Hero MMR feature provides players with the option to check out a friend's performance by exploring their Hero MMR, which is a measurement of performance with an individual hero relative to their overall MMR.

There's also an improved chat interface, which now features the Whisper option, multiple conversations tabs, and bigger chat rooms.

The Hero browser has been redesigned as well, and new ways to watch Dota 2 matches have been implemented. The whole DotaTV experience has been expanded and revamped.

Party voice chat has been added too, along with party management, party beacon and the option to invite friends to play with you.

There are a lot more changes included in the new interface for Dota 2, so you might want to check out the dedicated Dota 2 Reborn website for more details.
