Before 2012, few had heard of Valeria Lukyanova and the nickname “Human Barbie” was being disputed among other women, huge fans of plastic surgery and of Mattel’s ageless doll, which they considered the very epitome of perfection. Today, Valeria doesn’t cease to shock and amaze.

She describes herself as a model and an artist, a singer of new age opera and a spiritual guru who can teach others how to have out of body experiences and even travel in space and in another temporal dimension.

In the few interviews she gives to international media outlets, she gives quotes that range from outrageous to plain stupid or ridiculous. One of her most recent, about how she lived on a diet of light and air, was deemed just that.

Valeria posted the photo above on her Facebook account just a couple of hours ago (at the time of writing) and, through it, she seems determined to shut up all her haters who say she’s had plastic surgery and is starving herself to maintain her nearly impossible proportions, her Human Barbie proportions.

In it, she’s shown at the gym in full workout equipment, though whether she did any exercise is anyone’s guess. She’s taking a full body selfie in a mirror, showing off her tiny waist and lean body. Many of the selfies on her timeline are taken at the gym, so she seems to be implying that she works out a lot to stay in such amazing shape.

While she claims that regular workouts, “Breatharianism” (said diet of light an air or, as she likes to call it “cosmic micro-food”) and good genes are to thank for her Barbie figure, speculation online says she’s attained such physical “perfection” (in her eyes and the eyes of many) through plastic surgery, plain and simple.

Word online has it that Valeria has had ribs removed to attain this wasp-like waist that seems hardly able to sustain the weight of her oversized breast implants, the only surgical intervention she’s ever owned up to. She’s also believed to have had her face altered through cosmetic surgery to look more doll-like, from the cheekbones to the shape of the eyes and her forehead.

However, Valeria also uses other tricks for her Barbie getup, including heavy makeup, blue contact lenses, lots of fake blonde hair and a practiced but still eerie “empty,” dead-eyed look.

More of all this is included in the video below.
