The gadget diaries

Seeing as Valentine's Day is coming up and we all know what a huge marketing boom it brings to everything red and sweet, beginning with chocolate hearts wrapped in red foil and ending with a Porsche Boxster (not really oldie, but goldie), Google has decided to indulge its users with some gadget feelings.

Who can forget the thrills of young love, when cutting paper hearts and turning them into cards was the most important task of the month, early drafts of the shape and text beginning as early as late January? Today's generation won't have that, but they'll fully enjoy the comfort of technology and will be able to play those heartwarming games of "She loves me/ She loves me not" via gadgets.

The reason I mentioned the daisy game is Teodor Filimon's Daisy-gadget, that will give you the option to enjoy its heart-throbbing emotions via mouse and click. Strangely enough, it always says that she loves me not, but by choosing the "Always perfect ending" I get to have the last saying. Ha! Ha!, Fate and Destiny, in your face!

Another gadget is Bijoy Thangaraj and Narasimhan DL's Love Quotes, a big red heart that features inspirational love quotes. I skipped and skipped to Shakespeare's "Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds/ Or bends with the remover to remove" and so on, but I couldn't find it and I ran out of time. Some nice quotes, though, are sure to warm your lover's eyes, if you learn them by heart and deliver at the best time.

If your Valentine is far away and you only get to see him/her on the Day, you might want to take a look at Vishnu.S' Valentine's Day Countdown and time your preparations after it. You're sure to not miss the happy occasion.

With that being said and loved, the Google Desktop Team said, and I quote, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
