Because monaural headsets don't cut you off from the outside world

The better a headset, the bigger the tendency to cut you off from all sound outside of it. Which means that you never hear people around you, or approaching cars. VXi found a good solution to that.

The company has introduced the VXi Envoy UC set of headphones.

In their base form, they look like any on-ear USB headphones. In their monaural form, however, they only supply sound to a single ear, leaving the other unhampered.

Sadly, this does not, as you might be hoping, mean that you can detach the left cup at any time.

Instead, VXi is selling a normal and a monaural version of the Envoy UC.

In both cases, the headphones possess Hi-Fi audio with DSP (Digital Signal Processing).

The Envoy UC 3031U stereo (two speakers) and the Envoy UC 3010U monaural (one speaker) should be available soon. Their prices, unfortunately, aren't known.
