VMware View Client for Linux Tech Preview 1.3.0 is now available on all Ubuntu distributions starting from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS through Ubuntu 11.10, and can be downloaded from Ubuntu Software Center.

Canonical is making sure that it stays at the forefront of technology and it's trying to get a step ahead of other OS manufacturers. They pointed out that the Education sector is one of the largest growing parts of society and that it needs to benefit from a virtual desktop solution.

Repurposing, getting prolonged use from existing PCs, is an obvious use case for virtual desktop technology and Ubuntu is the perfect platform, at least according to Canonical.

Sure, VMware View Open Client is also available, but this version is a little easier to us as it incorporates the latest View Client technology. Anyone willing to try VMware View Client for Linux Tech Preview 1.3.0 can download it from Ubuntu Software Center.
