14 DAY TRIAL // Had it not been for Beyonce and her 16+-minute performance, Nicki Minaj would have owned the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 with her raunchy performance of her latest single, the equally raunchy “Anaconda.”
The rapper took to the stage right after Ariana Grande at the beginning of the show and twerked like crazy in all kinds of positions as the shocked audience looked on. Jessie J followed short, with Nicki returning to the stage in a more demure outfit, to perform with her and Ariana “Bang Bang.”
However, her twerking made a huge impression on the celebrities in attendance, but on none as huge as on British songbird Rita Ora. The Vine below is of Rita looking at Nicki’s backside, which she’s twerking furiously on stage. It really doesn’t need any explanation.
The camera zoomed in on other celebrities as well during Nicki’s performance, including Jennifer Lopez, who seemed genuinely bored with what was going on on stage, and Kim Kardashian and the Jenner girls, who just nodded to the beat but were also apparently unimpressed.
But Rita Ora’s reaction wins everything. It’s also how Twitter reacted to the performance, or better yet, the equivalent of that look put into words, about 140 characters or less.
