Katy Perry has a new album and various singles (with music videos) out but she didn’t get too much love from MTV with the nominations for the 2014 edition of the Video Music Awards, which were pretty much owned by Beyonce.

So Katy is quite upset about it, and I imagine so are her fans.

With over 54.4 million followers on Twitter, she doesn’t even have to say out loud, directly that she’s mad her video for “Roar” wasn’t nominated: being super passive aggressive will send the message across.

Check out Katy’s tweet, sent out after MTV announced the nominations for the VMAs 2014.

Now, that’s how you throw shade!

The artists who did not get overlooked by MTV in the biggest category of the gala, that of Video of the Year, are Beyonce, nominated for “Drunk in Love” ft. hubby Jay Z, Iggy Azalea with “Fancy” ft. Charli XCX, Pharrell Williams with “Happy,” Sia with “Chandelier” and Miley Cyrus with her much ridiculed but immensely popular “Wrecking Ball.”

The VMAs 2014 will take place and air live on August 24. The full list of performers is yet to be announced, but if I were you, I would not count on Katy being there, up on stage.
