Rapper was performing “Fancy,” shook it off like a champ

Unexpected bad things tend to happen during live shows, so what matters the most is handling them with grace, like a champ. This is a lesson that rapper Iggy Azalea had clearly learned, judging by the way she handled her fall off the stage some hours ago.

She was performing at an MTV VMA benefit show at The Avalon in Los Angeles when, during the live rendition of her smashing hit “Fancy,” she walked backwards to the side of the stage until there was no more stage to walk on – and she fell.

Bodyguards rushed to pick her up from the floor, and though she must have been in some pain, she resumed the performance as if nothing happened. She even shared the video to her fans on Instagram, laughing the incident off.

“Sorry but it would be a crime not to share this with you all, I know I laughed. #StillFinishedtheSongTho #KeptOnRapping #TheShowMustGoOn,” she wrote.

The first video embedded below is from Iggy’s Instagram and it doesn’t show her getting up to continue performing. The second one is from TMZ, which includes footage of her bodyguards rushing to her aid and her stepping up on stage again, apparently unfazed by the painful mishap.

The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 are tonight. Iggy is nominated 7 times, a tie with rapper Eminem, so she’ll probably be in the audience to collect awards, if she wins.
