All the stars came out just hours ago, for the MTV Video Music Awards, the 2014 edition, held and aired live from The Forum in Inglewood, California. Beyonce was one of them, and she also performed a 16-minute medley of her most recent hits.

Queen Bey was also honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, so she made sure that her performance was up to par to such a distinction, as you can see for yourself in the video below (watch it in full screen).

It was a number that did justice to the moniker attributed to her by her loyal fans, and also one worthy of an icon. Beyonce went from seductive to vulnerable, from bombshell diva to regular woman, from impressive vocalist to amazing dancer, thus proving to the world that, indeed, when it comes to live performing, only few others could be her rivals.

As you can see in the clip, she had the audience singing along and screaming in support from the first seconds on stage.

The medley included hits like “Mine,” “Haunted,” “No Angel” and “Drunk in Love” from her most recent album, “Beyonce,” with “Drunk” particularly standing out for featuring backup dancers dipped in gold paint, dancing with just their legs and bums. That’s actually a sight better seen that described.

At the end of the performance, the word “feminist” flashed up behind Beyonce, giving her music an even more powerful message.

Enjoy!
