14 DAY TRIAL // Liam Hemsworth is ashamed of Miley Cyrus’ performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and, at the same time, mortified by the thought that all the negative media she’s getting might reflect on him as well, claims a new report.
The Australian actor, whom Miley met and started dating while working together on the critically panned “The Last Song,” is now trying to break on the US market as a leading man and, as such, a scandal of this proportion is the last thing he’d need.
Insiders tell Radar Online that the VMAs controversy has “put a whole new strain” on his and Miley’s already strained relationship, and he’s pretty much made up his mind that he wants out.
“Liam really does care about Miley, but her racy new look and sort of ghetto attitude isn’t exactly what he signed up for,” says an insider.
“Her VMA performance absolutely mortified him and he couldn’t be more embarrassed. He doesn’t really see anything [attractive] about what she did on stage,” adds the source.
Liam is also having a hard time accepting Miley’s new look, which has gone from rebellious to downright trashy, a term she used herself in a recent interview when describing it.

The VMAs performance might turn out to be the final straw, they add, because she’s been pushing him away for a good many months.
“It’s not just Liam that Miley is pushing away… his entire team is urging him to part ways with her because she’s nothing but negative for his reputation and career,” another source reveals for the tab.
“Liam is a serious actor with a growing career, while Miley has just turned into a joke,” says the tipster, adding that “it’s pretty much over” between the two because “he doesn’t want to babysit her anymore.”
