While fans are still wondering whether the name of Lady Gaga’s first single off the “ARTPOP” album really is “Applause” or not, MTV confirms that she will perform it for the first time at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, the 2013 edition.

In other words, it’s time to get excited because new Gaga music is on the way.

Moreover, knowing Gaga and her flair for the dramatic, and the fact that an MTV awards show is the perfect scene to show it off, expect the performance to be something truly memorable.

“Gaga will make her triumphant return to the stage at this year's show, performing the new single off her hotly anticipated ARTPOP album before a star-packed crown at Brooklyn's Barclays Center... not to mention millions of fans watching around the world,” MTV says.

Lady Gaga is the first live performer announced so far. The VMAs 2013 will air live on August 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and you can see the list of nominees here.
