14 DAY TRIAL // The MTV Video Music Awards 2013 were last night, and Kanye West didn’t cause a scene. Not only did he keep a very low profile throughout the gala, even though Taylor Swift won Best Female, but he also delivered one of the most subdued performances of the night.

Kanye opted for “Blood on the Leaves” for his live showing at the awards gala and he made sure the entire gig was in tone with the track, which samples the 1965 heartbreaking song by Nina Simone, “Strange Fruit.”
One viewer was certainly impressed with it – Kanye’s girlfriend and baby mama Kim Kardashian took to Twitter once it ended to declare her beau the winner.
“Best performance of the night @kanyewest !!!!!!!!!” Kim wrote.
