One Direction is taking over the US. The British-Irish boy band won big at this year’s edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, which took place last night in LA, but also thrilled fans with a live performance.

You can see it below, embedded at the end of this post.

The five-member band took to the stage for a live rendition of their hit song “One Thing,” sending the female members of the audience into a frenzy.

Those lucky few to score seats in the mosh pit even got to be up close and personal with their idols, though we’d say they didn’t get as “personal” as they would have liked.

As for the actual performance, we’ll just say this: Zoe Saldana was not impressed – but Taylor Lautner seemed to be enjoying himself quite a lot.

Enjoy.
