VMAs 2012: Nicki Minaj Wins Best Female

Nicki Minaj added a new award to her already impressive collection: at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards 2012, she won a Moonman for her exotic-looking video to “Starships.”

Below is a video of her acceptance speech and, we just have to say this, while we’d expect her to have become accustomed to winning such awards, she seemed genuinely surprised and moved.

In winning the award, Nicki beat out competitors Rihanna and Katy Perry and, as she put it in her acceptance speech, she had no one but her loyal fans to thank for.

Unlike other industry awards, the VMAs are more indicative of the tastes of the public because winners are voted by fans.

In other words, Nicki has the best in the world.
