“Turn Up the Music” was the first video he directed and he got to see his efforts honored

Some industry insiders may still harbor some ill feeling towards Chris Brown for things that have absolutely nothing to do with his professional career but one thing is certain: his fans positively adore him.

Chris won Best Male Video last night at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012, beating fellow artists Justin Bieber, Drake, Usher and Frank Ocean.

Considering that it was the fans who voted for each nominee for all categories, Chris obviously thanked them for making it possible for him to take home the Moonman.

He also thanked MTV and his team for recognizing his first directorial effort, for the video “Turn Up the Music.”
