Stability and speed have been improved as well, along with the UI

Although VLC has yes yet to make it gold in the Google Play store, the media player is one of the most popular applications launched by VLC Mobile Team.

VLC for Android has just received its fifth update, which brings it one step closer to the final version. According to developers, the latest update greatly improves the UI in the Audio and Video listings.

In addition, it brings tablet-freely mode, as well as support for Intel and Nvidia Tegra 2 devices.

The update also increases the stability and the speed of the application and includes a bunch of new translations. Last but not least, a few features and bug fixes have been also included.

VLC for Android Beta 0.0.5 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
