Ubuntu Touch has been deemed stable for quite some time, and third-party developers have really started to fill in the gaps. This is the case with a new app that allows you to control the VLC media player with the phone.

The VLC media player is by far one of the most successful and well known media players in the world, no matter the platform. It stands to reason that someone might want to remotely control VLC in Ubuntu with his phone.

A developer named Jonathan D'Orleans has done just that and he promised that the code would land on Github soon so that anyone can take a look at it.

“Do you love movies, music, VLC and Ubuntu? What about a VLC Remote Control for Ubuntu Touch? Yeap! I've been working on this project for 3 days now and here is the first result. Hope you love it!” said Jonathan D'Orleans.
