Before the video player that we are still waiting for hits Windows Phone Store, VLC, a new application that makes it easier to control the PC version of the media player is now available for download.

VLC Mobile Remote is aimed at both video and music lovers who own a Windows Phone handset and are too lazy to run to the computer to change the music track or wish to pause a movie.

The application can easily control VLC media player directly from a Windows Phone handset by turning it into a remote control.

According to the developers, the application can Stop, Play and pause a track, and features other commands like control volume, Mute, next track and previous track. Seek control, fast forward and fast rewind are included as well.

With VLC Mobile Remote, users will be able to save multiple computer addresses, but they can also manage subtitle, playback speed and playlists. Users can also customize the application by applying various themes.

You can now download VLC Mobile Remote for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up (including Windows Phone 8.1).
