VIA Technologies has announced a new storage solution that takes advantage of the company’s C7-D processor, in a home server form factor dubbed NSD7800. The new storage product is capable of offering support for up to 8 fully-sized hard disk drives featuring a SATA interface. Powered by VIA’s processor, the NSD7800 home server is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows Home Server applications, enabling easy access and security for the user’s personal data.

“VIA is confident that the VIA NSD7800 server accurately addresses the needs of today's consumers. The system runs on a 300W ATS power supply unit and offers a series of indicator lights for better management.

Additionally, VIA’s home server comes with system monitoring and management features, such as wake-on LAN, Wake-on Alarm, Watch Dog Timer, System power management, AC power failure recovery. It supports Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2007, Windows Home Server and Linux.
