VIA Technologies has recently announced that it will be showcasing a new solution, specifically designed for the digital signage market, which will allow for multi-screen HD content to be played using a single platform. According to the x86 processor platform innovator, the HD board will be showcased at the East Wing of Embedded Systems Expo (ESEC), held in Tokyo, Japan from May 13 to 15. Visitors will be able to see a mini-ITX board that will deliver DX10.1-capable integrated graphics and the necessary support for powering up to four digital displays with HD content.

“Our digital signage solution represents a new approach to HD content delivery, both in terms of ROI and speed to market,” said Daniel Wu, vice president of VIA Embedded, VIA Technologies, Inc. “VIA's long term strategy is to re-invigorate existing markets with innovative products and services that continue to give our customers the edge in a competitive market place.”

According to VIA, its upcoming solution for Digital Signage markets is designed to provide customers with dual HDMI connectors, an integrated DX10.1-capable GPU from S3 graphics, all within a mini-ITX form factor. The board will be capable of powering up to four digital displays with HD content, consequently eliminating the need for an additional graphics card and bringing Digital Signage products to market faster.

In addition to said platform for Digital Signage markets, the x86 chip maker announced that it would showcase a number of its other products during the ESEC expo in Tokyo. The company plans to bring the AMOS-3000, a VIA EPIA P700 Pico-ITX board that is designed for industrial applications. The VIA ETIX-3000 board, featuring the Em-ITX form factor and a 1.3GHz Nano processor, is designed for ultra-thin embedded applications. Another first that will be showcased by the chip maker during the expo will be the VIA EPIA-P710 board, the first Pico-ITXe based product.
