Over a month has passed since V-Moda announced a certain pair of headphones (made in conjunction with HBO) and the company has now stepped forward again, to release another such product, the Crossfade M-80.

The market for headphones, speakers and other such things is one that grew at about the same rate as that of mice, keyboards and other peripherals.

One means of promoting products that companies sometimes use is to label them with an already popular brand.

The brand doesn't even have to belong to the same layer of the industry and it can even be the name of a cinematic or small screen production, to give one example.

Back around the start of July, V-Moda sent out the True Blood-edition V-80 headphones, made jointly with HBO.

Now, the True Blood logo has landed on the Crossfade M-80, a different pair of headphones that feature a price of $230.

They are of the on-ear variety and are built in such a way as to withstand any pressures and shocks that they may possibly be submitted to.

Verily, it is apparent that the sound solutions developer put more effort and resources into the survivability than the actual audio quality, though the latter is by no means lacking.

In fact, the company did more than bundle them with an exoskeleton carrying case. One of the measures taken to this effect was the reinforcing of the detachable microphone cables with Kevlar.

Another thing that V-Moda did was use a steel frame and a microfiber suede-covered STEELFLEX headband (can bend more than 10 times flat without breaking).

Replaceable foam cushions and interchangeable metal shields are, likewise, part of the feature set that the outfit saw fit to implement, extra costs or no.

Finally, the M-80 have 40mm Dual-Diaphragm drivers and high-quality noise isolation of which more can be read on the official product page.
