Clothing and headphone maker V-Moda, has recently announced the availability of its first True Blood-branded product, the True Blood-edition V-80 headphones, which were developed in conjunction with HBO and target fans of the Emmy award-winning series.

The V-80 on-ear headphones were specially designed in order to feature interchangeable metal shields that can be themed after the show.

These cover the earpods and include a special etching that includes the Fangtasia night club name, the Japanese symbols found on the Tru Blood beverage used in the show as well as a plaque where users can laser etch their blood type or name.

Outside of the special True Blood theme, the V-80 headphones are built to pass the MIL-STD-810G military standard guidelines.

As a result, for the construction of the V-80, the company used materials such as steel, aircraft-grade aluminum, and Kevlar, and the headphones are shipped together with an exoskeleton hard case meant to protect them during transport.

As far as sound is concerned, the V-80 headphones pack 40mm dual-diaphragm drivers with a 5Hz to 30kHz frequency range, which V-Moda claims can deliver a vibrant bass as well as organic mid-range tones and top-notch clarity.

"The True Blood phenomenon mirrors the edgy, seductive values of the V-Moda Tribe," said DJ and Chief Visionary Officer for V-Moda, Val Kolton.

"HBO and True Blood were a natural fit with V-Moda in creating a groundbreaking, industry changing product that is a creation of acoustic visionaries," concluded the company's rep.

The V-Moda V-80 True Blood headphones are now available at select retailers, including Amazon and Newegg. Pricing is set at $230 US.

The V-80's are covered by a special V-Moda replacement program that offers a 50 percent lifetime discount to replace consumer-damaged headphones.
