German director Uwe Boll, famous for his passion for turning popular videogames in less than popular movies and for how universally hated he is by critics, is working on a new movie called “Blubberella.”

Though he’s yet to finish his work on his latest film, the documentary “Auschwitz,” Boll is already ironing the details for a new movie, one that would completely put the whole superhero concept in a new perspective.

As CBC has learned, Boll is working on something tentatively called “Blubberella,” a film that, by its name, features an overweight woman as lead.

Not only that, but she’s also a superhero – the first of her kind. A supposed poster for the new superhero flick has also been making the rounds online, but whether it’s the official one is yet to determined.

“The tagline for Uwe Boll’s new horror comedy, Blubberella, says it all: ‘The first female fat superhero... She will kick major [butt] – with her major [butt]’,” CBC reports.

The leading role has also been cast: Lindsay Hollister, whose credits include appearances on “Days of Our Lives,” “ER,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Law & Order SVU.”

“Blubberella follows an obese superhero (played by Lindsay Hollister) who stabs her bullies with her swords, one in each hand. The heroine also stamps out evil – literally. Her footsteps cause explosions,” CBC further says of the film.

“This year is a typically busy one” for Boll, CBC notes. “Blubberella is his third directorial project of 2010, along with Auschwitz and Bloodrayne: The Third Reich,” the same report says.

As of now, only a blurry image has been made available for the film; it is believed to be the official poster, the same report notes.

While CBC wonders whether Boll’s treatment of a plot centered on an obese woman would be funny, tolerant or discriminatory, Entertainment Weekly’s PopWatch contacted Hollister’s rep.

Apparently, “Blubberella” is really happening but, until just now, the rep had no idea a name for it had already been picked.
