The relationship between Justin Bieber and Usher is that of disciple and mentor respectively, so it's no wonder that Usher finally chose to step in and lend a much needed guiding hand to the teen pop star.

It's been reported by TMZ that Justin was spotted in Panama this weekend and Usher has flown to meet the pop artist there for what has all the makings of an intervention. Usher was spotted in the resort of Nitro City which is located in the Punta Chame region.

The signs that indicate he was there to set Justin on the right track were that he was accompanied by Justin's manager, Scooter Braun, and his childhood friend Ryan Butler. Other reports indicate that this intervention group was completed by the presence of Justin's mom, Pattie Mallette and another one of his friends.

The meeting is definitely aimed at sitting down Bieber and having a serious talk about his latest antics. The singer has started out the year in a blazing fury of childish antics and quickly went on to felonies that landed him in jail last week in Miami.

The first Bieber scandal came right after New Year's, when a bored Justin allegedly attacked a neighbor's house with eggs causing serious damage. The police are currently developing a case against him and it will be announced in the course of the week if he's going to be accused of felony vandalism.

But that was just the beginning for Bieber, who first took a trip to Aspen for some snowboarding with friends. There were no serious incidents reported from that trip, but it all soon turned pear-shaped, as soon as Bieber touched down in Miami.

There was talk of exotic dancers, drug-fueled partying in various clubs and, the culmination point, a DUI arrest with added charges of drag racing. Despite making bail in just a few hours, Justin revealed to the entire world his whirlwind existence at the moment.

His management now hopes that a few of his friends and relatives can bring him back on the right track with a stern talking. Braun and others wanted Justin to head to rehab but the singer would hear none of it.

Aided by his father who supported this crazy lifestyle, Justin was seen drinking alcohol at a party, just hours after he was released from jail. Maybe his mother can have a more positive influence on the 19-year-old who posted a picture of himself coming out of jail pasted next to a similar photo of Michael Jackson in similar circumstances.
