Facebook users are advised to be on the lookout for scam posts that claim to offer free vouchers for the clothing retailer Primark.

According to Hoax Slayer, the scammers ask users to like their Primark Vouchers page and share the posts that advertise the vouchers. Then, victims are asked to complete online surveys which generate a profit for the cybercrooks.

Some of these surveys also instruct Facebook members to provide personal information. Victims can end up subscribing to all sorts of premium rate services if they enter their phone numbers.

Similar to all other Facebook voucher scams, no one wins anything, except for the crooks, who can make a lot of money.

Primark is aware of these scams. The company has posted the following warning on Facebook: “There are pages on Facebook offering £500 Primark vouchers for free - they are fake, please do not click on them! We're working with Facebook to remove them as quickly as possible. If you think you may have entered your details, changing your Facebook password is recommended.”
