Last week, experts started publishing advisories to warn people about the online and offline scams they might come across before and during the 4th of July, or US Independence Day, celebrations.

If you want to do some shopping, you should avoid purchasing anything that’s advertised via spam, since, in many cases, nothing good can come of it.

The offers might be hard to turn down, but the quality of the products is usually misrepresented, not to mention the fact that many ads can be part of sophisticated scams.

Here are just a few examples of Independence Day-themed spam emails identified by Symantec:

-(July 4th) Independence Day Sale - Insane! -Retrieve 4th of July Day Prices On All Cars Today -Every 2013 automobile is (50%-off) July 4th -Summer Kickoff (4th of July deals start now) -INCREDIBLE 4th of July Savings on New Cars in Your Area!
