The recent UK trouble in which the data of about 25 million people was lost proved us that it's extremely important to keep our very important information secure and protected. But it also reminded us to backup our files since a so important data loss can affected all the data stored on our computers. However, some recently statistics rolled out by Tickbox.net and Carbonite revealed that most consumers are not interested in creating backups for their files although they consider they store very important data. According to Web User News, 24 percent of the respondents never backup the files although 7 out of 10 persons said their files are extremely or quite
important.
"The most surprising result from this survey is how many people do not back up at all. Anyone with a PC should regularly back up their files, including costly music and digital photos," said Floyd Bradley of Carbonite according to Web User News.
"The number of people who simply do not know how to back up is concerning. It is often the unsophisticated computer users who are most at risk from data loss, as they are more likely to open an email containing a virus or click through to a site that downloads spyware, malicious programs or other malware."
With so many backup technologies currently available on the market, it's hard to understand why most users prefer to avoid protecting their data using such an inexpensive method. In case some of you might talk about money and investments in backup solution, some of the products are even free for personal use so I don't think this could be a reason for not creating backups.
Moreover, there are several web-based backup tools which allow you to save your files online and, if something unexpected happens and all your data is lost, you can easily download your uploaded content from the web.
