Google fans launch anti-Scroogled effort aimed at Microsoft

If you’re a Microsoft user, you most likely heard about the Scroogled campaign that’s supposed to reveal the unfair practices used by Google for some of its products.

Well, Google has refused to respond up until now, embracing a secrecy that’s even more annoying than a direct attack aimed at Microsoft.

The search company’s fans, on the other hand, have launched what they call “MicroShafting,” a new campaign supposed to show everyone that Microsoft attacking Google is nothing more than the pot calling the kettle black.

In other words, Microsoft is a hypocrite for criticizing Google because it does almost the same things as its rival.

Basically, Google’s users are pointing to Bing, claiming that Microsoft’s search engine also collects users’ data. What’s more, the Redmond-based software giant is more interested in revenues than customers, they say.

Last but not least, the MicroShafting campaign pokes fun at the removal of the Start button, as Microsoft previously attacked Google for its decision to discontinue Reader.

Neither Google nor Microsoft commented on this new campaign, but expect some comments on this anytime soon.
