Fixer Antispy discovered by 2Spyware.com

Fixer Antispy is a new fake antispyware utility detected by 2Spyware.com, which attempts to invade the desktop with all sorts of alerts meant to convince the user that the full version is absolutely required to protect the system. The security company set a 35 out of 100 severity scale and added that numerous executable files were deployed by the program: FixerAntispy.exe, FixerAntispyInstaller[1].exe, FixerAntispy_Updater.exe and FixerAntispy_monitor.exe.

"Fixer Antispy is another fake anti spyware tool. It can not scan a computer nor delete infections, but it's capable of displaying fabricated scan results. Fixer Antispy puts all efforts in making an image of badly infected system. It displays a lot of commercial pop-ups disguised to look like security alerts. These tactics are used to lure users into purchasing Fixer Antispy. Do not buy Fixer Antispy software! It's a scam to take money", the advisory reads.

Just like usual, you're advised to avoid visiting malicious websites and refuse installing suspect security solutions that may attempt to infect your computer. In case you don't know for sure if Fixer Antispy is installed on the system, here's its main three characteristics: it shows commercial adverts, it connects itself to the Internet and it stays resident in the background.

In addition, you can also check if the said processes are installed on your computer. All you need to do is to start Task Manager and look for the above executable files. To start the utility, right click on the Windows Taskbar and choose Task Manager. In the Processes tab, search for the malicious executable files, select them and click on End Task.
