Sure you can Google it or search for some of this stuff on YouTube, but iTunes U makes it easy to have everything in one place. The most important detail about this collection is that a good portion of the apps, books and movies are either free or very low priced.

You may be studying William Shakespeare's work in school or maybe you just need a good way get familiar with it. The iTunes U staff have put together a brand new collection, so you can have the plays and poems at your fingertips. Literally.

400 years later, Shakespeare's life and work is not just books. You can check out some great iTunes U Collections, Apps, iBooks Textbooks, his works, Folger Library, Shakespeare's Life and Movies made after his poems and plays.

The "iTunes U Collections" contain courses by Oxford University, the National Theatre, University of Warwick, Cambridge and Stanford. All of them are free.

The apps are a great new addition. Most of them are made by Cambridge or just independent developers and prices range from zero to $14.99 (€11.09). There are apps that can help your start your work on Shakespeare, see just a few bits, learn about the old London, check out a city map of Verona or read the masterpieces in beautifully rendered graphics.

The iBooks Textbooks are a no-brainer when it comes to choosing between regular textbooks and these. Lower prices and no added bulk to your backpack should convince the students to get these over the regular, hard cover ones.

"Shakespeare's Works" is the most interesting collection of iBooks. Most of them are free so you can start downloading and reading right away. If you want to get an in-depth look at Shakespeare's language and a new perspective on the books, you might want to try the Folger library apps.

Interested in his life? There are seven different books to choose from. A work by Mark Anderson called "Shakespeare by Another Name" explores the idea that William Shakespeare's work was actually written by someone else.

Last category is "Movies" and there's 30 of them to choose from, starting with the "Romeo and Juliet" released in 1968 and ending with the same title from 2013, different actors and perspectives over the same classic play. If you want a great collection, try "The Hollow Crown" – a modern-day rendition of Shakespeare's work, available for buying or renting in full HD.
