Clancy Systems International has announced that its Park-by-Phone Service is now available on System Parking of Chicago. Users that enroll in the service will be able to avoid the hassle of paying with coins, bills or tokens into parking meters by replacing them with their mobile phone.

In order to sign up for the service, one has to visit the Park-by-Phone website and subscribe for an annual membership that costs $5.95.

Then the users have to print a temporary ID card with the help of a PC and place it on their car's dash. Soon after, a permanent hanger for the rear-view mirror will be mailed to the user which starting then will be able to pay for parking by calling a dedicated number and entering the lot or meter number.

Another benefit of this service is that members will be able to remotely add more time to a parking meter that is about to expire, by calling the toll-free number or visiting the website. Members will be recognized by caller ID when paying by mobile phone which means there's no need to enter a membership number.

The only data a user has to enter is a PIN and the lot number. A convenience fee of 10 percent will be added to the parking charge and in return each subscriber will receive a bill through either e-mail or regular mail. The advantage to this is that users will be able to pay for parking once a month as well as receive a detailed expense record. The Park-by-Phone service is now available in nine states in the US and in Puerto Rico.
