AOL has just revealed a new technology, codename BlueString, that is meant to host any multimedia file uploaded by the users, offering a 5GB storage size. The most interesting aspect of the service is that it combines several elements inspired by the other web solutions such as YouTube, Flickr and other file hosting products. If you still don't get it, BlueString is probably the best solution to host your files as it can store all of them unless they require more than 5GB. The useful thing is that it allows you to upload a file in a matter of seconds by using the link from other web products. Supposing you want to publish a photo from Flickr, you can use its direct link for faster upload.

At this time, BlueString is still in beta stages so, if you encounter difficulties while using it, don't be too angry. Obviously, the service is available for free so you can use it as long as you want without paying any fee. One more thing you should know is that BlueString cannot be accessed in Opera Browser because it supports only Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, 6.0 or 5.5, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

"BlueString is a free online service that allows you to preserve and share your memories in a whole new way. You can store, create and share your photos, videos and music - all from one place. At BlueString, you can combine these different media to create multimedia shows to share with friends and family," it is mentioned in the description of the service.

"For the first time, we're making it possible for people to access, combine and share all of their personal media from a single application for free," Kevin Conroy, executive vice president of AOL, said in a statement on Monday according to Reuters.
