Fitbit might be looking to make a comeback in the world of wearables

You might recall Fitbit went through a bit of a rough patch this year, when it had to recall their Force fitness bands that caused skin irritations and allergies for some owners.

Don’t go jumping to conclusions, a massive plague outburst wasn't what happened and only 1.7% of the total customer base was affected by the itchy problems, but Fitbit decided to do the responsible thing and pull all the Force items from sale.

Since then, the future of the Force fitness band has been unclear. Will the company keep making it or has the wearable been discontinued?

According to the latest information provided by serious leakster @evleaks, it appears the company is hoping to jump back into the market with an overhauled rash-free Force.

Judging by a new photo that was made available online, Fitbit might be in the process of modifying the Force, in order to re-launch it as a new product.

The image shows a fitness band that’s pretty reminiscent of the Force, but it does seems to have some modifications attached to it too.

Judging by the information attached to the picture, the new updated Force should provide users who still have the courage to pick one up, with most of the functions of the Force.

However, there are some differences, including the addition of new feats such as Caller ID and real-time run stats.

Most importantly, the wearable will be hypoallergenic which means the days of rash infestations should be over and done with. The band is also more water resistant, which is always a good thing.

You might already recognize other features, like the ability of the device to track steps, distance, calories, minutes and floors climbed.

The wearable band can be synced wirelessly and automatically to over 44 devices (including iPhone and other Android phones), but also with computers. Furthermore, the mobile app & online dashboard lets you monitor your progress by supplying the necessary graphs and charts

So far, there’s no information regarding when the new improved Fitbit Force will be launched into the wild, but if we’re to treat the new leaked image as reality, the overhaul should cost customers $130 / €95. Interestingly, this is the same price as the Force, before it was recalled.

But even with all the apparent improvements added to the new Fitbit, will costumers be able to get the rash issue that affected the first iteration and go back to picking up the new Force?
