Back in October 2012, Archos released a certain tablet called 80 Cobalt and equipped with an 8-inch LCD screen. Now we learn that the tablet has received an update.

Either that, or an update is about to be sent over to owners of the device.

The firmware version (20130202) was released on March 29, 2013, and fixes two problems.

One will remedy the issue where Google talk doesn't actually produce sound in the loudspeaker, making video chats impossible.

The other problem is with shortcuts and icons: they will be possible to remove from the home screen now. No more clutter danger.

For anyone who wants a refresher course on the $200 /200 Euro tablet, Archos 80 Cobalt has a 4:3 1024 x 768 pixels LCD, a dual-core 1.6 GHz CPU, a quad-core GPU, 1 GB RAM, and 8 GB storage (up to 64 more via microSDHC card).
