The newly-released update is available for WW and US stock-keeping units (SKUs) only

ASUS has just rolled out a new firmware package targeted at its TF701T Transformer Pad, namely version 11.4.1.17, which can be applied only on WW and US stock-keeping units (SKUs).

Even if no changelog is available whatsoever, if you intend to upgrade to this release, bear in mind that the update process isn’t capable of installing a different SKU or an earlier firmware version than the one already applied. Doing so can cause device malfunctions or might even render the unit unusable.

Therefore, from the tablet’s menu, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build Number, and review the current software running on the device.

Just to be clear, if the build number is “WW_epad-10.26.1.18_xxxxxxx” or similar, this means that the TF701T already has installed a WW-SKU, 10.26.1.18 firmware version.

When done, get and unzip the downloadable file, copy the newly-extracted archive onto the root folder of the device’s internal drive via USB, and remove the cable when the transfer is complete.

At this point, the TF701T will automatically recognize the new update and display a “System Update Detected” message in the notification bar; simply tap on the message, select “Ok,” and wait for the firmware to be applied.

That being said, download ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T Firmware 11.4.1.17 for the appropriate SKU, take into account all above-described aspects, and update your tablet to the latest firmware version.
