One of the features that Windows Phone 8.1 users will soon enjoy on their devices is the possibility to easily personalize the lock screen, courtesy of a dedicated app, and a video preview for the software is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Over the weekend, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore officially confirmed that the Lockscreen app was almost ready and that users might get a taste of it before the end of this week, though only in a beta flavor.

While no specific details on what the software will have to offer have been revealed as of now, Microsoft did confirm that it would provide users with some more customization capabilities on their devices.

Until the app is made available for download, however, you can learn more on what it will have to offer courtesy of the aforementioned video, which can be seen embedded below.

Three different clock versions will be offered in the app, said clip reveals. On the downside, however, is that only devices with at least 1GB of RAM will be able to enjoy the software and that it will be released only in English.

It should not be too long before the Lockscreen application arrives on Windows Phone, so stay tuned for more on the matter.

Update: Apparently, the video is actually depicting the Animated LockScreen Preview app for Windows Phone, which is not the official Lockscreen app that Microsoft is expected to release this week.
