Respawn Entertainment has confirmed the many different plans it has for Titanfall, its recently released shooter, ranging from improvements to balancing, small tweaks, and enhancements, to bigger features that require a bit of beta testing.

Titanfall launched last month for the PC and Mac platforms and finally surfaced on the Xbox 360 this month, bringing a really impressive multiplayer-only first-person shooter experience that focuses on fast-paced action and plenty of strategic thinking.

After sharing a few details about future plans for Titanfall at PAX East over the weekend, Respawn Game Director Steve Fukuda has gone in-depth about the upcoming features and the different ways the whole team is trying to improve the first-person shooter on the official website.

First up, there will be plenty of changes to balancing and minor tweaks to things like scoring, as Respawn wants to ensure that there aren't any overpowered or underpowered weapons and that the matchmaking will be able to create the best online events possible.

After that, there are "convenience features," according to Fukuda, which relate to mechanics like the Party Colors one that allows players to easily identify their friends in-game.

"The next update will bring more convenience features such as: the ability to rename your custom loadouts and to make custom loadouts specific to each game mode, a way to filter your Challenges by criteria such as 'closest to complete,' and displaying the final scoreboard from your previous match in the Last Game Summary so you can review the scores at your leisure in the lobby," he said.

Last but not least, there are the big infrastructure changes, like the recently added Private Match system, which require quite a bit of beta testing.

"In future updates, we'll be bringing you the first wave of custom Private Match options, allowing you to personally tweak your Private Match experience in a variety of ways. Whenever possible, we want to get these kinds of features out early in beta form, in order to get your feedback and arrive at the best possible result through multiple iterations," Fukuda added.

The game director has also confirmed that, besides these features, upcoming updates will also add actual content to the game, including a new set of Burn Cards for Titans, as well as "Nose Art" insignias that can be used to customize a player's Titan. An all-new game mode and fresh variations on existing ones will also be released for free.

Respawn emphasized at the end that the only paid DLC would be the map packs, like the upcoming Expedition one.
