Retail chain Tesco seems to be determined to spoil the reveal event for the Xbox 720 that will be held on May 21 as the company is now confirming that a new Halo video game will be launched on a new Microsoft home console before the end of this year.

The listing, which has since been modified to eliminate the Halo name, lacks an official cover for the game and the listed date of December 31 probably means that the company has not received too many details from Microsoft or from developer 343 Industries.

The platform is listed as Xbox 360, but both companies have already stated that the next installments in the Forerunner trilogy will move to the next hardware platform.

Previously during the week, Tesco also revealed that the next Call of Duty title was called Ghosts and would be launched later this year.
