Even if GNOME 3.4 has not yet been released, the GNOME developers published some of the features that will be implemented in the next major release of the desktop environment.

Therefore, it looks like GNOME 3.6 will have SkyDrive support implemented in the gnome-documents package, focus-caret tracking support for GNOME Shell, Microsoft Exchange support in the GNOME Online Accounts app, IBus and XKB support.

Moreover, jumplists will be implemented in GNOME Shell. There will also be message tray updates, improvements to the printer panel, a revamped lock screen, improvements to the user panel, help menus, and a revamped blank slate scheme to help users get started easily.

More details about each of the above features, as well as new features, can be viewed here.

Today, March 28th, the GNOME Project will officially released the final and stable version of the highly anticipated GNOME 3.4 desktop environment. The full announcement can be find here.

Softpedia will do a nice preview of its features, so check back a little bit later for an in-depth article about the new GNOME 3.4 release.
