Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak Prepared for Release

With iOS 6.1 out and in the hands of millions of iDevice owners worldwide, the infamous group of hackers responsible with jailbreaking the software now has clearance to roll out the goods.

“Responsible” as in they took it upon themselves to code the hacks when no one else would.

It’s not exactly a day job, so you should feel really lucky that there’s someone out there doing the heavy lifting so you can install custom themes and tweaks that extend the functionality of your iPhone.

Anyway, according to a tweet by MuscleNerd, the untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak should be available this weekend (on Super Bowl day).

The hackers have reportedly tested the bits against their exploits and everything is A-OK. Keep your fingers crossed this Sunday. It promises to be a very fun day indeed.
