Many of this summer’s huge releases have already gone into full promotional mode, some of them as early as approximately one year ahead of the official due date. One sequel that is mysteriously flying under the radar, as MTV News points out in a recent piece, is the third installment of “The Twilight Saga,” “Eclipse,” out at the end of June. Still, fans shouldn’t lose hope.

The fact that Summit Entertainment has not yet released a trailer for “Eclipse” and no additional promo material aside from a few stills that made it out yesterday is by no means an indication that it will not promote the film properly. In fact, true Twi-hards should know that they have the unique chances of seeing no less than 7 full minutes from the upcoming film by purchasing the DVD with the second, “New Moon,” once it’s out in stores in March.

“With the new movie and 50 minutes of extra footage and interviews, ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition’ also contains an exclusive, seven-minute sneak peek of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.’ It begins with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the production of the newest film. New interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as with series-creator Stephenie Meyer, are integrated with revealing on-the-set footage of some of the key scenes and sets from the upcoming movie. This first look at ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ concludes with the world premiere of an actual scene from the upcoming film,” a press release on Walmart’s official website reads, as cited by MTV.

However, this is not all that Walmart has in store for “Twilight” fans, MTV goes on to say. “Walmart is planning to host late-night events at 2,600 stores and will be featuring ‘Twilight Saga Shops’ in locations nationwide. According to the press release, among the items in the shops are the following: Wolf- and vampire-lover tanks ($7); ‘Twilight Saga’-themed tees ($9); Jacob Black and Edward Cullen tees ($9); […] ‘New Moon’ special-edition two-disc DVD and Blu-ray, available 12:01 a.m. March 20; ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition’ two-disc DVD ($24.96) and Blu-ray ($29.96) and ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition’ with Forks documentary DVD ($29.96), all available 12:01 a.m. March 20,” MTV further informs.

What this means is that, come March 20, the world will see how the third “Twilight” film looks – or, at least, know what to expect from director David Slade, who is now at the helm and on whom higher expectations are pinned as compared to Chris Weitz, who directed “New Moon” and whom some fans considered something of a letdown.
