Epic Games has released a new video, showing a bunch of devs testing the upcoming Unreal Tournament's Deathmatch mode, apparently having a blast.

The video below shows various members of the development team discussing various issues they come across, and also offers a glimpse of the gameplay in the upcoming first-person shooter on the devs' monitors. Of course, the footage is laden with placeholder art, but it appears that the base mechanics that consecrated the arena shooter are making a comeback.

While this is not the first instance of gameplay footage being shown, it is by far the lengthiest. The devs play on a community-made map, and share their thoughts on how the development process is coming along.

The game is currently in development, headed for PC, Mac and Linux, and will be released as a free-to-play title, with Epic Games intending to monetize in-game transactions between players, regarding player-created content.

The first-person shooter is being built on Unreal Engine 4 and will most likely be one of the most visually impressive titles on release. We were already offered a glance at its impressive graphics, in a video showing a sort of playable Unreal Tournament concept art level, released last week.

For now, Unreal Tournament has no prospective release date, but we'll come back with the news as soon as it becomes available.
