Unreal Tournament 3 DLC Now Available

- Three new maps available for download now

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

All the first person shooter fans should be really happy right now since Midway and Epic have just announced that downloadable content for the amazing Unreal Tournament 3
is now available for PlayStation 3s and PCs. The DLC consists of three new deadly arenas: Morbias, Facing Worlds and Searchlight. The PS3 owners can download the new maps directly from the PlayStation Network, while PC owners of the shooter can get it from the official website or directly from Softpedia, if you follow the link at the bottom of the page.

When the game was shipped, 40 maps were available and since then hundreds of user-created mods and maps have been published, but the developers state that they are committed to providing fans with even more official content. And these three new maps are a proof that they're not talking nonsense!

Morbias is the deathmatch arena that started it all, perfectly suited for anything from small intense duels to chaotic free-for-all matches. The Unreal Tournament classic map, Facing Worlds was one of the most played maps in gaming history. This beloved sniper map makes its return alongside an intricate new capture the flag map, Searchlight, designed for both z-axis rooftop runs and strategic indoor gameplay. Returning classics and fresh new designs let you experience Unreal gaming like never before. And, what really matters for most of the people: everything is for free!

Unreal Tournament 3 marked the return of the beloved game on PCs and the debut on PlalyStation 3 consoles. Using the Unreal Engine 3 (probably one of the most licensed game engines ever), Unreal Tournament 3 takes graphics, gameplay and challenge to a whole new level – and that is exactly what us, the gamers, love. That's why it has been such a successful title and probably that's one of the reasons the game developers really care. And we do hope that we'll keep getting even more goodies in the future.
