Earlier this year, following intense pressure on Britain’s Got Talent, Susan Boyle, the Scottish singer that conquered the entire world even before she had a single, let alone an album, out in music stores, was admitted to London’s The Priory mental clinic, suffering from exhaustion. Since then, Miss Boyle has been saying she learned how to deal with fame but, according to a new piece in the Daily Mail, she is anything but that.

Susan, nicknamed the “Angel” by her fans, is not only not prepared for a life in the spotlight, but she also continues to be at a loss as to what to do when she’s at the center of people’s attention. While in New York, for instance, where she managed, over just a few days, to have everybody in the palm of her hand, she had a sort of a mini-breakdown at a CD signing. Photos show the singer wiping her eyes and sucking on her thumb, evidently distressed.

Because of this, she will return home to Scotland around Christmas time, which means after she’s done promoting her first album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” the Mail says after getting confirmation from the singer’s camp. “[Boyle] is making plans to leave the London flat where Simon Cowell and his team taught her how to be a star. Susan is also relinquishing her gym membership and chauffeur driven BMW. She won’t need a housekeeper any more, and she doesn’t care that much for her expensively decorated flat, with its granite kitchen surfaces and cream walls. […] Come Christmas, she will have finished with her commitments to Sony to plug her product, and will move back in permanently,” the British publication writes.

Susan Boyle has repeatedly claimed that fame has not changed her in any way and that’s perhaps because she never quite meant it to last longer than it already has. She will sing, because that’s what she always wanted from life, but she will not become what we, the public and the industry, understand by a pop star, the Mail further argues. Instead, she will live in self-imposed seclusion in her home town, only to come out whenever she’s needed and not more.

“Home is the one in Blackburn that she grew up in, and that is the home she wants to live in. She will not be buying a house in London. Her London pad, which is rented, is convenient for the time being. Because of Susan being in London to work on the album she has been splitting her time, but she will be back in Scotland very soon, with Pebbles,” Susan Boyle’s PR, Nicola Phillips, says for the Mail.

I was in NY at the show Susan did. It was not a CD signing. She received a quilt from fans in all 7 continents and was visibly moved after. That is the whole story. As for the thumb sucking at one point she had eaten some fruit and sucked her finger like anyone would and later it was in response to a joke.

I have never heard her fans refer to her as the angel either. Instead of copying other lies reported why don't you try printing the facts? Oh, that's right it takes too much effort.

Hi Mary,

If you say you were at the show where the photos were taken, I guess we just have to take your word for it, even if reports in the media say otherwise. I’m sure that, if you are a true fan, you know Susan was first named by the community the “Hairy Angel.” The “hairy” part was later dropped because it was offensive.

Also as a fan, I’m sure you’ll agree Susan’s life is subject to much speculation right now – it is my job then to report even on those rumors that eventually turn out to be unfounded. No need then to take veiled shots and call names. Thanks for your attention and comment.

Good for Susan! I was wishing she would pull back before she was eaten alive. True Susan fans will understand and be content with a song or two a year.

I agree with Mary 100%
Nothing happened like you reported it and how do I know this well its because I was also there and saw everything that went on and nothing like how you have slanted it.
Your whole article reads like she is quiting and going home to Scotland forever.
I think you are going to be surprised like it or not she is going to be around a long time
Also her fans have never called her Angel what they say is ''she sings like an angel''
It was the trashoid press that started the angel business by calling her the Hairy Angel.
I wish some of you so called reporters would check out the true facts before putting them into print or would this take too much of an effort ... its not really all that hard to find you know it just takes a little effort.

Hi Kacey. See my reply to Mary, it also applies to you, especially the part about name calling. Thanks.

Hey ... its only speculation like you said your atricle was based on if you can do it why can't I
Its articles like this that keep these so called speculations and untruths perpetuated.
This woman was bullied all her life and as far as I'm concerned articles like this and others of the same ilk are cyber bullying.
Go to the Irish Central website and read the truth about Susan Boyle and also while there I speculate you might also learn how to be a real reporter.
That's it I've wasted enough time on this site and you'll be glad to know I won't be back

Good-bye ... Kacey
