Yesterday, online retailer Clove announced that it would make the white flavor of Nokia Lumia 920 available for purchase today via its website, unlocked and SIM-free, and it seems that it has already exhausted the entire initial stock of the device.

Those who head over to the retailer’s website to place an order on the device will learn that the Windows Phone 8 device is no longer up for purchase.

“White stock – sold out. Other colours to be confirmed. These handsets are unlocked and can be used on any network,” Clove notes.

It certainly does not come too much as a surprise that the phone has seen such great demand, given that EE is selling it locked on its network, and that many users wouldn’t want to commit to a contract with the carrier.

Aggghhh... this whole thing is getting ridiculous. Why can't Nokia just supply 100,000's of the devices to the UK, unlocked for any network and sell them through each carrier, CPW and P4U? EE is NOT the network most of us would choose. Their website is terrible and does not provide sufficient info to know what you're getting in their deals, e.g. roaming costs, etc. I really want the 920 - my friends & family want the 920 - the world wants it, but we're been told to wait, wait, wait, with not news on when we can expect the wait to be over. The US has it, and it costs less; so why are we brethren EC countries having to wait and pay more for the inconvenience? Nokia, you have a great device but that's no good to anyone if you aren't shipping / selling it. Even EE are out of stock for 2 weeks and aren't bothering to promote it very much in store. What has gone wrong??? The person responsible should really be considering his/her position in the company.

I agree with your comments, Surely Nokia have shot themselves in the foot especially when Nokia's market share is poor and dropping profits. The TV is littered with 920 adverts at the moment, WHY if you can't get hold of one sim free...... Am I prepared to wait, NO! I might stick with Android or try the HTC 8X

I too agree. Nokia you are annoying all your potential 1000s of customers. I too have been championing this phone to all my friends and colleagues. Why Nokia do you make it so difficult for me to give you my money. I have also emailed Nokia directly. Maybe if they get enough complaints, they will do something about this. Drop the exclusivity already!
