Xperia Z1, the latest Android-based flagship smartphone from Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile, is already available for purchase in the United States, unlocked and SIM-free.

The device can be seen listed at online retailers such as GSM Nation and Negri Electronics with model number C6903 attached to it.

This is the 4G LTE-enabled version of the smartphone, which comes to the market in the United States with support for LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600MHz, making it fit for the networks of AT&T and T-Mobile.

Users interested in the purchase of this device will find it available at $749 (€554) via GSM Nation. At Negri Electronics, however, it is listed at $786.50 (€582).

Both retailers claim that they have the smartphone in stock and that they can deliver it to users in 24 to 48 hours.

Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 smartphone during the IFA 2013 tradeshow in Berlin, when it confirmed that the smartphone would start arriving on shelves before the end of this month.

Xperia Z1 sports a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also packs a 16GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The main selling point of the new device is its 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, with support for full HD video recording, which is paired with a front camera for making video calls.

Xperia Z1 runs under Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, but also features a wide range of customizations and exclusive applications coming from Sony themselves.

“The Sony Xperia Z1 is the ultimate smartphone. Dust proof and water resistant, the Z1 has a 5 inch Triluminos display with a 1080p resolution,” GSM Nation explains.

“The blazing fast 2.2Ghz Krait 300 processor and 2GB of RAM ensure you can multi-task without any lag at all. The 20.7MP camera is an achievement in its own right, armed with countless features and enhancement and everything is packed into a slim, sleek chassis that oozes class.”
