Sony Xperia advance, also known as Xperia go, has just landed in the US. The smartphone is available for purchase starting $250/€195 outright, depending on color.

For example, Newegg is selling the yellow version for $250/€195, but is asking $100/€80 more for the black-themed Xperia advance.

Sony Xperia advance is a mid-range smartphone powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Even though the Japanese handset maker confirmed that the device would receive an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, there are no timelines available yet.

Furthermore, the handset packs a 1 GHz dual-core NovaThor U8500 processor, a Mali-400 GPU, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

It also sports a 3.5-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel rear camera. The Xperia advance is IP67 certified (dust- and water-proof), which makes it the perfect choice for those looking for a rugged smartphone.
