Although the HTC Sensation is already available for purchase via a few carriers in Europe, the unlocked version of the smartphone has yet to make its debut on the continent.

Currently, the HTC Sensation is retailed by Vodafone in UK and SFR in France, at special subsidized prices, but recently the device was spotted in Germany and in Italy.

Amazon.de lists the unlocked HTC Sensation for no less than €600,90, while Italian retailer Media World shows the device as coming soon for €599.

Unfortunately, none of the two retailers unveils any timeline for the phone's release, but we should assume that the Sensation will hit stores sometime in June.

Coming to confirm the release date is UK retailer Clove who is already taking pre-orders of the smartphone and says that the first stock will arrive on June 27.

Customers living in UK can either purchase the HTC Sensation from Vodafone or they can pre-order it via Clove for about €575.

Even though the price tag is definitely on the expensive side, this is not unexpected if we take into consideration what it has to offer.

However, the prices should get lower in time as the phone is closer to its launch date. On the other hand, with any luck, those who really want to own the HTC Sensation can purchase it subsidized by one of the carriers operating in their countries.

The Sensation is the first Android smartphone to introduce the new and improved HTC Sense 3.0 UI and is among the first to be equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by the next generation Adreno 220 graphical processing unit.

The device runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread, as well as HTC Watch, a new application and service from HTC, meant to provide users with fast access to latest, premium movies and TV shows, or to easily discover the latest video content.
